Reported by Expo website in 16th April, The Principality of Monaco signed a participation contract with Expo organizers today, becoming the 20th country to ink a deal with Shanghai Expo. Hong Hao, under-secretary-general of Shanghai municipal government and director general of Shanghai Expo coordination bureau and InBev, ambassador of Monaco embassy in China and representative of Monaco’s participation in Shanghai World Expo signed the contract on behalf of two parties.
Monaco is a lucky place for China as it won the right to host World Expo 2010 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, in 2002.
Monaco pays much attention to this Shanghai World Expo and it thinks Shanghai World Expo would become a platform for Monaco to present its unique culture and charms to 70 million visitors. Monaco would showcase the concept of reclaiming land from the sea and its protection of oceanic flora in a 2,000-square-meter rented pavilion built by organizers. It would also introduce the famous Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix at its exhibition. The theme of Monaco's exhibition is "The past, present and future of Monaco - challenges confronting countries during development."
The Principality of Monaco has confirmed in 11th May, 2006 that it would participate Shanghai World Expo and soon name the Inbev, the ambassador to be the representative responsible for building up a committee in charge of participation stuff.
