News from Expo website says, in 17th April, the ceremony of signing participation contract with Expo organizers is held in Guiyang.  Shao Xianglin, director of Guizhou Commerce Bureau, Huang Jianzhi, vice director of Shanghai Expo bureau, signed the contract on behalf on Guizhou province and Shanghai Expo bureau. Meng Qiling, vice governor of Guizhou Province held a meeting with Xiong Xunlin, deputy director of communication office of Shanghai Expo committee before the ceremony.

According to the agreement, Guizhou is required to hand in its theme statement which should be spread on Shanghai Expo theme of “better city, better life” to organizers before 30th April. The theme statement will be put into practice after judgment and reviewing by the expert committee. Exhibition plan and the technical figures are required to be handed in before 31st December. The exhibition will be in display based on the technical requirement put forwarded by organizers and the Exhibition plan approved.

After the ceremony, communications are carried out between the representatives from Shanghai Expo bureau and those participate into the organization work from Guizhou province. At the meeting, Huang Jianzhi makes a brief introduction of the progress it is taking and Shao Xianglin briefs the works is doing for Guizhou’s participation in the Expo. Further discussion is held on thematic performance, collection of special ethnic activities, forum organizations, internet Expo and so on.
